Glowing Blue Shores: A Breathtaking Natural Phenomenon makes Shores Twinkle like the Starry Sky
Sea shores have a special charm that makes them the most beautiful things one can find on earth. That beauty gets more and more charming when they shine in glowing blue.
No, these are real pictures of on of the shores onMaldiveIslands. As soon as it gets dark the sands of the shore shine with a marvelous blue color rivaling the stars in the sky.
The reason behind this phenomenon is a kind of marine microbes called phytoplankton that is spread on shore. Scientists think they use this as a defense mechanism against their enemies. If I were a predator, I don’t think I would eat a glowing creature!
Another theory is that phytoplankton uses it to protect its area.
This doesn’t only happen inMaldives. The next photo shows the same phenomenon in Everglades,California.
This is another photo also from California:
It is indeed a charming world!
